Advocacy, Activism, Organizing, and Policy in the Arts and Culture Sector
Pilot Course Begins August 8, 2024
This 8-week course is designed to equip BIPOC leaders in the arts and culture sector with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to effectively advocate, organize, and influence policy. Grounded in the principles of the Black Panther Movement and Ella Baker's organizing principles, the course emphasizes collective and collaborative leadership, decentralization of power, community-centric approaches, commitment to social justice and liberation, horizontal learning and peer mentorship, and holistic and sustainable practices. Through theoretical frameworks, case studies, practical exercises, and guest speakers, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to navigate and impact the arts and culture policy landscape.

The Cost of the Pilot Course is $5. Maximum Class Capacity is 30.
